On April 20th, 2010 a meeting was held in the Community Hall to start to organize Avonlea’s 100th Anniversary to be held June 30th, 2012.

There were fifteen in attendance, the following ideas were put forward.

1. Residential and Business location History (Guided Tours)
2. Parade
3. The Rink will be the celebration centre
4. Lions to continue with July First on Sunday as usual
5. Possible Live Theatre
6. Caterer Saturday night supper at rink
7. Live band Sat night at rink
8. Fireworks Sunday Night

These are just preliminary ideas. The whole community is welcome to attend the next meeting to be held June 7th, 2010 at 7:30, Community Hall
